Design Task

This 26,000 sq/ft Kaiser Permanente behavioral health space in Lathrop, CA was a sister site to their other behavioral health space in Modesto, CA. ACS employed the same goals and design direction for this site to tie them together. The space features 5 meaningful commissioned pieces with special stories along with other beautiful custom commissions to add interest to the space. Key commissions include two 20' community walls, a mosaic glass artwork set, a fused glass wall sculpture, a wall sculpture made of book covers, and a paper quilling wall sculpture depicting local/native florals. The artwork collection also features works on metal, aluminum, and acrylic. For the community walls, the staff participated in selecting the quotes that were displayed. In addition, ACS provided an in-house custom design for the  pediatric observation room and custom designed montages with local imagery throughout the corridors and employee areas. Lastly, we installed beautiful nature photography prints in all 44 of the provider offices. Since this space serves both the adult and pediatric populations, it was important that the artwork was versatile for all.
