Design Task

Empty office buildings post-COVID in the new work from home/hybrid environment are creating challenges nationwide for commercial property owners. The owners of this corporate building in Solano County, CA engaged ACS to partner with them to create an artwork collection that would generate excitement as the perfect solution to elevate and distinguish their newly renovated space. The 2-story atrium lobby welcomes tenants and their clientele with over 160 suspended cables strung with hand-thrown and painted ceramic pieces by renowned regional artist, Stephanie Taylor. Further into the space, hexagonal maintenance-free moss artwork leads visitors to office suites on the first floor, while a colorful dance of commissioned blown glass artworks guides guests up the stairs to the second floor. Each of the tenant entrance stairwells feature canvases that are 5’ wide by 10’ high, slightly dampening the sound in the open space, while the corridors on both floors are enhanced with bold and vibrant abstract artwork that gives the space a modern, upscale feeling. ACS was honored to work with such thoughtful property owners to create a space that will enjoy a full house of happy tenants for many years to come.
