Design Task

The owner and management team at the Residence Inn by Marriott in Downtown Sacramento wanted to foster a special experience in this elegant hotel, evoking a homey feeling and they wanted to create an opportunity for the staff to connect with the guests. ACS helped finish out the lobby renovation by creating a unique collection of commissioned pieces that allowed the staff to connect with their extended stay guests by sharing the stories behind the artwork and artists. Each piece was commissioned to represent in their own way the essence of the city of Sacramento and its rich history. The colors and imagery represent the confluence of our two rivers, the lush foliage, our surrounding mountains, and Sacramento’s growth dating back to the gold rush.
